Another incredible week with @meetinggodinmissions in the Dominican Republic! A lot is said about how transformative these trips with MGM are, and indeed, they certainly are life-changing. But they are also just a ton of fun! Joy, perhaps, is a better word than fun, for joy is the deep sense of satisfaction found when we experience redemption and restoration in our lives through the Gospel. Joy in the opportunity to worship the Lord together each morning undistracted and fellowship with one another throughout the day. Joy in taking in the beautiful sights of God's creation all around the island. Joy in serving in a multitude of ministries, churches, and villages, and seeing believers who, though divided from us by distance and language, nevertheless know that the joy of the Lord is their strength, and aren't afraid to testify about it. Joy in seeing Americans and Dominicans alike come to faith in Jesus. Joy in seeing friends and teammates raised from the waters of baptism to walk in new life in Christ. Joy in being reminded anew that the source of all joy, God himself, rejoices that He has called, redeemed, adopted, justified, sanctified, and glorified each and every person who has placed their faith in Him.
