📝 12:47 PM, 18 Nov 22 - Gleaming on the adaptives, the beaming lights of the arena illuminated even more to us what was already beyond the visible - what it ultimately meant to be an athlete. “It was the right decision, I’m so happy with this,” @scottywilliams321 whispered as I composed myself cutting onions. The adaptive division of the sport is somewhat new but by showcasing these athletes, it echoes tremendous power - to rebuild what was broken, to breathe life to many parts of us that are dying, to lead us to a purpose beyond ourselves, and most of all ignite hope where it was lost. They are an ultimate inspiration. And if the podium is about the recognition of hard work and tenacity, then it is agreed that it will always have room for each and every adaptive athlete in this inclusive community around the globe. Our adaptive athletes speak volumes of lessons we, more often than not, forget.
