let’s chat mamas🤍 ———————————— postpartum bodies. that phrase within itself comes with more meaning than just “your body post baby.” it can come with trauma, insecurities, a new found love for yourself or whatever you make of it when you hear it from pre-baby, to pregnancy, to postpartum our bodies are different and unique in each stage but that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with any of those stages. from the moment you give birth, here comes all the daunting body questions or comments——whether that’s about working out or “snapping back” to our pre-baby bodies, but in reality, snap back culture is damaging to soo many of us postpartum mamas. i’ve gotten my fair share of those comments that I snapped back so well/fast or it doesn’t even look like I popped a baby out of me and while I love to hear those comments——although to the outside eye I appear as if I snapped back, there are the little tiny postpartum body changes that the average person doesn’t see that I do like my stomach being darker than before and not as toned, my boobs being smaller (especially after my pumping journey), my stretch marks on my legs being more noticeable and the new stretch marks on my boobs, the slight love handles when i sit down, to my face feeling fuller and even the postpartum hair loss. from outside opinions or the opinions of our own bodies post baby——we literally grew and birthed an entire human being from the bodies we are so critical of because of this culture that tells us we need to look a certain way, but my message to you is to give yourself grace for the work your body has done and may still be doing if you’re pumping/breastfeeding. our bodies are powerful and it’s time we start recognizing that🫂 . . . #motherhood #momblogger #youngmom #momcontent #contentcreator #blackmotherhood #blackmothers #firsttimemom #postpartum #postpartumjourney #blackmom #postpartumbody #postpartumbodylove #motherhoodjourney #mommentalhealth #boody #loungwear #ugccreator
