The amount of joy I’ve found though this club in the last couple weeks alone is just so mind blowing. When I started the club in the summer, I didn’t know how to do what I wanted to- I was so scared and hesitant.. so protective of my idea and scared to let people in. And now we’re almost half a year into it, and I just have this immense love for this- this shift from how I was making art into how I’m making art now. Shifting focus, leaning back a little bit. The entire five months has been a joy to experience, learning new ways of connecting with you and trying out new ideas.. but this past month I really feel like my dream just got so much bigger. And I feel way more confident sitting here, knowing that I feel more confident in my ability to tell you my story, and to show it to you using art that I’ve made with my hands. The December envelopes officially went out today.. and they’re full of it all.. all the love & wanderlust. All the gratitude and wonder. I tried so many new things and I think these last two weeks, my club went into this new level of polished, a new level of put together. I love that I felt free enough to create without fear of what people will think if I messed up, that I remembered all these cool tricks up my sleeve, from my typewriter collection to the wax seal kit.. all these really cool things I could use to elevate the experience & look of Postcard Club, just sitting here waiting for me to realize it.
