Best friends stuck together during the pandemic, @lionelmoise and @shymarley spent every day trying to recreate the tastiest plant-based versions of the Caribbean dishes they grew up with. Two years later, they started @PapiSoley – a pop-up food concept evolving into a brick-and-mortar.
In their words, “Food is such a central part of not only Haitian and Caribbean culture, but Black culture as a whole. Recipes and traditions are passed on from generation to generation just as music and art are. We hope to touch on our roots with these dishes while also paying homage to the traditional foods our ancestors ate.”
If you’re in Miami, Orlando, or NYC this summer during one of their pop-ups, give them a try! If not, their Instagram DMs are open to find out where they’re headed next or if you’d like to request a pop-up near you. #BlackBusinessMonth
