Frankie Burgio is off to a 4-1 start for his senior campaign. His only loss so far against state runner up Sammy Spaulding from CC. A hammer down low for Boro, Frankie sits at 93 career wins as a 4 year starter for the Panthers. I’ve supported Frankie since we met when he was in 6th grade and we are pretty close I would say. I’ve enjoyed covering his career and truthfully I would have bet on him reaching the podium already. With that said, it’s funny how this sport works. It can be quite unforgiving sometimes and that’s what happened when Frankie suffered a concussion last season. Nevertheless, rode his talents down the boardwalk for the 3rd consecutive time in his HS career. Point Boro (as I’ve been told) has never had a 4x state qualifier. The Panthers have a duo who could do that this year and one of them is Frankie. Coming off two straight bonus victories, including a major of Red Banks state medalist, Frankie has his sights set on a podium run this year while helping the team compete throughout the season. I told Frankie i would keep this interview short as he is in need of a nap and wanted to drink some of that yummy looking pink stuff that he had there 😂 looks like a Starbucks drink.
