👋 Suella Holland is currently studying MFA Photography at @belfastschoolofart. “My passion is photography and the ability for photographs to tell stories that words alone cannot express. My photographic journey began in 1989 when I got my first camera, a Nikon FA. Not long after that I did a degree in photography in Dublin Institute of Technology graduating in 1993. Having worked as a professional photographer for a number of years after achieving my degree from DIT, Kevin Street, I then gravitated towards publishing where I still work today. Together with my day job I have maintained my love of photography and continue to trawl the highways and byways of Ireland in search of striking images for the purposes of documentation, education and exhibition. Some of these photographs have graced the covers of books and been the inspiration for other artists and wordsmiths. For the past ten years my main photographic subject has been abandoned buildings and dereliction within Ireland. I have travelled around the country documenting the demise of some of the most wonderful places, all steeped in history, both local and national. There are many stories that could be told from these old homes, schools, convents, churches, workhouses and others. These images can be seen on @forsakenireland. Now, almost thirty years later, I'm fulfilling a long awaited dream and am going into the second year of the MFA in Photography at Ulster University. Being back in a college environment and around like-minded people has really driven my work forwards. The support of lecturers and classmates has been invaluable and I don't want my learning experience to end." 📸 Check out Suella’s incredible work - @suella.holland Find out more about MFA Photography, link in bio. #WeAreUU #Student https://bit.ly/3xg5T2w #Photography #University
