exploring @terravivaibiza - a regenerative farm in Ibiza started by my two dear friends. 😋 Ibiza is a largish island that used to produce all its own food but now imports 96% of what it eats. As the island moved to tourism over 80% of agricultural land became essentially abandoned as it became just an add on to someone’s villa. Slowly the soil is degrading and the island will become desert over time. Regenerative farming works alongside and in harmony with nature to produce food. The benefits are manifold - more delicious and nutritious food, no chemical run off, more rich biodiversity in the land, air and soil, more carbon capture, less carbon emissions from transporting food and improved water and air quality.
