5 years ago, in 2017, we started @AsianBossGirl — during a time when I was aiming for a promotion at my job. The former was the best thing that’s ever happened for me, the latter, the best thing that never happened to me. Who knew that picking up a mic and recording our conversations would change our lives forever? Since day one of ABG, our hopes and dreams for this podcast was to create a safe space and an inclusive community for the Asian diaspora. A place for us to share our stories with the intention of empowering other Asian women (and also our ABBs out there) to find and use their voices in whatever medium and in whatever magnitude felt safe and purposeful to them. That’s always been at our core. And I hope we continue to do just that. Because we deserve to be heard. And we deserve to take up space. To see how much the ecosystem of Asian voices has grown over the past 5 years is incredible empowering. To all of you reading this - whether you’ve been with ABG since the FckBoi episode, or you’re a recent listener - thank you for being along for the ride. You inspire us to keep going every single day.
