Sometimes it can be hard to find store-bought gluten free crackers, minus all the cheap filler ingredients like corn flour, starches, vegetable oil, colours and other additives! If you’re like me, you might like to enjoy the occasional GF cracker with some organic goats cheese or a homemade dip on a picnic with friends or a spontaneous outdoor adventure (because #snacks ) but without subjecting yourself or your friends to those unnecessary additives. Because nobody enjoys the onslaught of bloating, stomach cramps, headaches, brain fog, blood sugar spikes or fatigue - which is an unfortunate consequence of consuming some of these additives for many people.⁣⁣ ⁣ Thankfully, there are some great gluten + additive free cracker options available – you just have to know what to look for!⁣⁣ ⁣I've put together a ‘swap this for that’ cracker edition to help you out on what to look for next time you're in the supermarket or health food store (swipe right). ⁣ If this is too overwhelming, start by reducing your use of ‘pre-seasoned’ crackers / rice cakes and choose the plain variety instead which will have significantly less additives and inflammatory ingredients. If you miss the "added flavour" on the crackers / rice cakes, serve them with a yummy dip, or fresh avocado with salt & pepper, or some good quality cheese.
