Whenever I post images from the Sailboat Series or the Equestrian Shoot, I get a lot of DMs. So let me answer some FAQ while you look at @tayyymckay on a French sailboat on Michigan's Lake St. Clair. The DMs vary from ❤️ to "I would love to shoot with you!" and "If you ever need a model." Sometimes I am asked, "Do I have to be a model?" I truly appreciate the interest and offers. No, you don't have to be a model! But, I have limited time and availability–less than ten slots per year. So I have to some prerequisites. The first one is obviously having the right look, confidence, and sense of adventure. The goal isn't just to shoot pretty pictures or graduation photos for grandma. I find those qualities in the agency models. The other qualities I find are reliability and appreciation for the photos and my time. These sailboat photoshoots are big and expensive productions. I can't afford to have cancellations or no-shows. Editing the photos can take weeks. Agency models like Taylor appreciate my time and the value of the images. They use the images in their portfolios and socials. We both get more work from that marketing. Grandma's like on Facebook doesn't do much for me. So if you've read this far, I can assume you'll at least appreciate my time. If I "ever need a model," I'm going to pick one who is agency-represented. But, I would love to take you on as a client. I'm happy to discuss deals if you have your own sailboat, horse, pool, or whatever. If you sent me a DM with a ❤️, try pitching a concept and inspo pics. If you can prove to me you read all of this by telling me who the shoot isn't for, I might just pick you for a photoshoot! #michiganmodel #michiganphotographer
