🚀 Joining us from the Starship Albion, @thelibertines join @underworld and @fatfreddysdropnz as some of our crew for 2023’s SGP. The Libertines are without doubt one of the most iconic alternative acts of the last twenty years. Their early days as the romantic leaders of the British punk scene were well documented across multiple books, music magazine covers, and newspaper headlines. The band quickly formed their own brand of anarchy, accented with poetry and explosive, unpredictable guerilla shows. Their first two albums, ‘Up The Bracket’ and ‘The Libertines’ were full of instantly recognisable indie floorfillers, like “Can’t Stand Me Now” and “Time For Heroes.” Then taking a hiatus to, among other things, form new outfits Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things, their music only engrained itself more in our nations’ consciousness. Now we love a good comeback story... When The Libertines reformed a few years back they cemented themselves as a live band unlike ever before - from headlining a sold out Hyde Park show for 65,000 people, to topping the biggest rock festivals in the country. Armed with their third record ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth,’ with hints of new music on the way, they are now unquestionably music royalty and not to be missed. 🚀 Catch them in next year’s Garden.
