one year ago today, i sat by your side as you took your last breath. since that moment, i have experienced a great pain like no other. there are still moments where i pick up my phone to call you and remember that i can’t. words cannot begin to explain how much i miss you. in this past year, i have experienced great pain, but it is in this pain that i found joy and love. blessed are those who mourn! because great pain is derived from great love. our pain and suffering is a gift from God, between you and Jesus alone, for every time we suffer we find ourselves closer to the cross. blessed are those to feel! because through every emotion that we feel, we invite the Lord to unite our sufferings with his and to receive his infinite love and mercy. and what a joy it is to be seen and known by our Heavenly Father. my dear mother, i hope you continue to watch over me in heaven as i continue to make you proud. i would hug you so tightly right now if Heaven wasn’t so far away. i love you so incredibly much. 🤍
