Major figure of the #punk fashion since the beginning of the 70s, Dame @VivienneWestwood passed away today, December 29, aged 81, in Calpham, South London, surrounded by her family. "The only reason I'm in fashion is to destroy the word 'conformity'", the British designer once said. She definitely spent her whole life breaking the dictates of fashion and imposing her own striking vision, mingling art and meaningful provocation. Her unconventional and avant-garde creations quickly made her part of the fashion history, as well as her strong and exuberant personality. She never hesitated to commit herself to causes that challenge her, from political issues to ecology. “Vivienne continued to do the things she loved, up until the last moment, designing, working on her art, writing her book, and changing the world for the better”, the press release says.
