Women like Maybelle Blair and Billie Harris inspired characters like Carson and Max. I’ve been on this project for 3 years but last week, meeting Billie, was the first time i met a black ball player from their generation. After watching the first two episodes she grabbed my hands and said “Max went through what I went through. I’m so happy folks get to see now” I tried my best not to cry cause....well....you know the saying. But I’m so grateful that I get to do this job. That folks get to see themselves in the art I create. If only Toni, Mamie, and Connie were here to see it too. Enjoy A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN.
