In 2016, in the Dunkin’ on Bedford and Manhattan, I was frustrated with the fashion industry and told @richard_perez that I wanted to create costumes for characters I loved, to aid in telling interesting stories. In October 2020, I met with @dantebi_ (on zoom bc everyone was still isolating) and quite literally that night, started designing my first feature film. It was an insane time to make a movie, but we did it and ‘God’s Time’ finally premieres at @tribeca tomorrow 🌸 Earlier this week, @lizcaribelsierra and I were talking about how lucky we were to have had this project be our first feature film experience. My collaboration with the actors and with Daniel, was a once in a lifetime type thing that shaped and continues to influence how and why I make movies. Becoming a costume designer has been something that has meant more to me than I can articulate . I quit dance many years ago after identifying as a dancer first for my whole life, and have quietly sought out something that makes me feel as whole ever since. Working my ass off on this special project allowed me to find it.
