Wow, what a weekend that has just passed!... It's taken me a couple of days to catch my breath from all of the excitement of the @davidbowie 'Sound & Vision' tribute shows at @cuttingroomnyc, as well as time to reflect on some of the more somber events of the past week, like the passing of my Hudson Valley friend and neighbour, 1969 Woodstock Festival founder Michael Lang, and legendary African American icon, Sidney Poitier, whose contribution to the cinema and beyond has always been a great joy and inspiration to me... Those three magical nights on stage again with some of my fellow Bowie band members and alumni made me feel alive again for the first time, it seems, in years. I think we all felt what a blessing it was to make this celebration of what would have been David Bowie’s 75th Birthday a reality given the current situation of the world. It’s hard to believe that it has already been 7 years since he continued his journey in the realm of the non-Physical, but without question, his Spirit, his music, his art is still with us, and no doubt he was there with us all this past weekend in such a tender and uplifting way, and all of you who were lucky enough to attend (so wonderful to see some of the beautiful faces of my Patreon “GADIATORS”, thank you!) these special gatherings I know you could feel his luminous presence through the music. I wish I could be on stage every single with a band and singers as talented, loving, and inspiring as these incredible musicians, and I thank each and every one of them from the depths of my Soul for giving me a much needed boost of joy, and the sweet rememberance of a time, a place, a man who fell to Earth and changed all of our lives forever...
