@ASCAPFoundation’s brand new Alan and Marilyn Bergman Lyric Award is now accepting applications! The award will present $5,000 to a songwriter in the early stages of their career whose lyrics reflect the craftsmanship of the Great American Songbook. 🤩 Legendary songsmiths, Alan Bergman and his late wife, Marilyn wrote lyrics for film, stage and television for MORE THAN 50 years. They’ve earned multiple Emmys, Grammys and three Oscars for “The Windmills of Your Mind,” “The Way We Were” and the score for “Yentl.” Marilyn also served as ASCAP's President and Chairman from 1994 to 2009.
