A garden is a very good thing for a hermit to have—there’s always a meal at your fingertips. Thanks to the friends who’ve shown me great love and kindness for the last 8 weeks, while I’ve been in an extreme state of reclusiveness due to a personal crisis that shows no signs of ending anytime soon. When I first got the bad news 56 days ago, one of my favorite people offered to fly across the country at the height of a COVID surge (I forget which) to accompany me into an untellingly difficult situation he said I shouldn’t have to face alone. I said I couldn’t ask him to do that in good conscience, and that just his offer had made me feel less alone. He told me that accompaniment, in all forms, would be essential for getting through this crisis. To not try to do it alone. It’s good advice. I’m trying to remind myself of it every day. In the meantime, there’s the garden, and always @favathepup. ***Do not worry I am not sick! Sorry to be so vague! Someday I will write an entire book or three about all of this!***
