This project is so so special to me for a number of reasons. The first one being, the community I got to make this with was incredible. Everyone was so kind, talented and it was so much fun just getting to play and bounce ideas with all these talented people. The second reason is, this is a love letter to metaheads in the community that never see themselves represented. It’s an ode to all the teens that grew up in small towns where you dyed your hair and listened to metal music because it felt like those were the only things that you could do to be your own person. Metalheads is the heart of @gooddyeyoung ‘s mission to empower people from everywhere through the freedom of self expression. And 12 year old me was QUAKING all day on set getting to live me dream of making a piece I would have killed to see growing up in Alabama.
