We don’t jump the gun, we are the boom-boom gun…and Jeff Award winners! First, I want to say how grateful and proud I am to celebrate this phenomenal show and Best Ensemble win with this group of dedicated artists. A show like “Assassins” can be intimidating, but every single person was ready for the challenge of bringing such a controversial and beast of a show to Chicago audiences with such care and sensitivity. No one was a caricature, they were real people with real struggles. The cast knows I will say this till the cows come home, but it was a dream to work with a group of artists that truly cared for the show/art being created and you felt that in the room every. Single. Night. Thank you so much to the cast, crew, band, @shonuffchi101, @see.paz, and @theoubiquecabaret for trusting a group of queer-centric individuals to take on and bring to life your vision and show the struggles of the American Dream. Also thank you to the @thejeffawards for a wonderful night full of so much theatre pride and recognizing the passion of our special production.
