#WorldBreastFeedingDay FACT: Breastfeeding saves lives. 🤱🏻🤱🏼🤱🏽🤱🏾🤱🏿 In northeast Nigeria, Bilkisu's youngest child, Abba, was admitted to IRC's stabilization center when he was sick and suffering from severe acute malnutrition. Without access to information, many parents in Bilkisu’s community would feed their babies contaminated water, which can cause illness. But, since Abba's recovery, Bilkisu learned the nutritional benefits of breastfeeding and now encourages other mothers in her community to do the same. 💛 "The reason he is healthier than the others is that I raised him differently. People usually say you shouldn't give your child breast milk at first, but I did," Bilkisu told us. "This child is different from the others; he is stronger, healthier, and happier than the other children."
