Three cheers for @anajager for winning the Women’s Arizona Trail 800 Race yesterday in 12 days, 6 hours & 11 minutes— making her the second woman to complete the Triple Crown 👑 in a calendar year— Alice Drobna was the first in 2015.
We met Ana at the finish & brought her home with us in Tucson. I think she’s still sleeping 💤
Ana embodies so much of what is good in bikepacking— grit, courage, kindness and the willingness to step into the unknown & see it through.
I’ve known Ana since she was 19 & applied for the Baja Divide Scholarship in 2016. She took time off of school to ride the 1700 mile route with the group start. She went back to Bellingham & started a girls riding mentorship program. Last year, Ana took over organizing Anchorage GRIT to get more middle school girls out on bike adventures. She rides & she gives back. She takes everything in stride and makes it all look easy.
Ana is Alaska tough through & through. I’m so proud of all she’s doing.
