Bogie and Bacall in "To have And Have Not" 1944. They fell in love while filming this and their chemistry is off the charts. Bacall is so adorable doing that little wiggle dance over to Bogie but what I'm looking at is her great Fall blazer. I love a little tweed suit. Her jacket is that classic 1940s silhouette, shoulder pads and a nipped in waist - very hourglass, very feminine and very sexy done up in a traditionally masucline fabrication. I'd wear it today, but I'd probably pair it with jeans. And I might wear it closed with nothing under it (as she does) but you could also open it and stick a baby tee or a button down underneath. This could easily be current Ralph Lauren purple label.
