@vogueindia with the most incredible people. Thank you so much @achhib for having me on the team for this & for pushing and actively using your platform for the people 🤍 In the ’90s and early aughts, second-and third-generation youth from the South Asian diaspora birthed an explosive underground scene in the UK, giving rise to a nightlife movement that they could claim as their own. Toppling the very structures that had so far alienated them from mainstream clubs, inclusive collectives like Dialled In (@dialledin_) (a new festival championing artists with South Asian heritage), Hungama (@hungama_ldn) (a queer Bollywood club night), Pxssy Palace (@pxssypalace) (a QTIPOC club night), Daytimers (@daytimers_uk) (a new collective of British-South Asian creatives) and Misery (@miseryparty) (a sober club night for queer, trans and intersex POCs) are building robust communities on the back of a unique culture of sound.
