The Moment, 2009 — The way I came out was messy. It was 6PM on a Tuesday, and I began crafting a rambling, adrenaline-fueled confession on my blogspot. After one read-through, I shrugged and published that mess by 8. Spontaneous. Rash. Reckless? The comments!!! Maybe I could’ve better contemplated this life-changing moment, and its impacts? But I understood that this was my truth, ultimately. Whatever my stride, I was headed in the right direction. And today, ten years later, I’m not sure what awaits me on the other side of this gender dysphoria I’m experiencing (this is my confession) but I know that experiencing it is my truth.
