My friend of 50 years @kurtehrler sent me this yesterday. Long haired me 20 years old 1988. Red Jack Purcells, pajama shorts and a flipped up welders cap. That was my favorite sweater, I bought it half price at Mario’s in PDX for $62.50. It was the first nice piece of clothing I ever bought. I’m so glad I reserve space in my brain for that information yet can’t remember what day of the week it is most of the time. Damn it pains me to look at that kid, I was so damn lost. at the time I was going to community college @lanetitans taking theatre classes (loosely) and playing in a grunge band before they were called grunge bands. I worked in a coffee shop near campus, I basically had zero goals or dreams and had struggled with depression and suicide since I was 15. I had no plan and felt useless to the world beyond my immediate friends. It never occurred to me that I could do anything of any significance. I barely finished college seven years later winding up with an art degree from @u_of_o and still had no hopes, dreams, or plans. Fucking insecurities are so dumb. I wish I still had that sweater though.
