INCREDIBLE 👏 I’ve had my fair share of omakase, and WOW, was I ever impressed with the newly opened Okeya Kyujiro! They’re originally from Montreal and have arrived in Vancouver about a month ago. In terms of theatrics and overall experience, Okeya Kyujiro surpasses every omakase restaurant in Vancouver: —With every dish, their staff members come up to you directly to share a bit about what to expect —At any given point, every chef is artfully preparing your next dishes —The head chef even makes “sasagiri” in front of you, which is bamboo leaf cutting art —Towards the end, there’s a matcha tea ceremony 🍵 —& so much more! The experience was truly unparalleled ✨ For $275 per person (before taxes and tips), this omakase experience includes 20+ unique courses consisting of seasonal ingredients mainly sourced from Japan 🇯🇵 My favourites were the hairy crab gunkan, both bluefin tuna pieces, both uni pieces, and the chawanmushi... 🥰Nonetheless, everything else was still exceptional 🤌✨ 📍1038 Mainland St, Vancouver (Yaletown, Downtown) @okeyamontreal . . . . . .
