The speed; it's not fast, it’s swift. Smooth, linear acceleration that hides gear changes and keeps pulling long after a desired speed has been reached. The handling; it doesn’t turn the corner, it veers around the bend. With a pinky caressing the wheel at 9 and 3, the driver need only consider a directional change and the vehicle obliges with computers symmetrically correcting braking pressure and steering angle to ensure maximum comfort. I could go on. Much like the lake house, the genius of the Rolls-Royce is not in its ability to be good across a variety of attributes, but rather in its ability to utilize each of these attributes towards a singular goal; relaxation. Though there is still much that separates the $350k modern luxury land yacht and the 120-year-old home, they are both ruthlessly purposeful and effective tools for finding respite from the fast pace of city life. Moreover, they are also both sources of inspiration, pushing you to go further than you otherwise may have in search of that respite.
