Underscoring Clients_ Connor McKnight presents his Spring / Summer 2023 collection. “In some ways this collection feels like the culmination of everything I’ve been working on from the very beginning. Recently, I spent some time reflecting on family past times and drawing parallels to my own interests. I found the variety of activities despite busy, hardworking lives fascinating. It inspires me to see such multitudes even in a microcosm as small as one family. I wanted to create a collection that paid homage to some of these past times in order to further broaden the perception of the black mundane. The set takes cues from two relics of past times: the Bohemian Caverns, an iconic jazz club in D.C. from the 20’s; and juke joints, diy clubs in the south designed for the sole purpose of a good time. I’ve been working hard since I started a few years ago, but I wanted this collection to serve as a reminder to have a good time. - cm”
