RADIO MILESTONE!!!! Just presented my FIRST EVER DOC FOR BBC RADIO 4 😱 If I'm honest, I probably listen to @bbcradio4 the most out of any radio station and I've been tuning in ever since I was at school and my dad made me start listening to it to make me "learn more about the world" 🤓 So my 15-year old self would be pleasantly surprised right now! This project was a dream collaboration with @nooriyah._ as the producer and it feels like a special achievement to have this show air on Radio 4, presented and produced by two brown females 💪🏽 and looking at a topic that might go under the radar of your average Radio 4 listener... the programme explores music from different cultures and tuning systems around the world, and looks at why many of those musical traditions are being lost due to the dominance of "Western-sounding" music and a kind of homogeneity that is thus evolving.
