Last year, Abigail underwent a heart transplant at GOSH after she was diagnosed with a variation of restrictive cardiomyopathy. She and her family were in and out of GOSH in the lead up to Christmas - but were able to return to their home in Yorkshire just in time for the big day. Abigail’s mum, Kathryn, says, “Yorkshire is a long, long way from GOSH, but it was lovely to be home, sleep in our own beds and see my other daughter after being in London since September.” “Juggling medicines, an IV infusion and Christmas dinner was a challenge, but we managed. It was lovely to be a (relatively) normal family again, and to put up and decorate our own Christmas tree.
