Traces, plural noun: A mark, object, or other indication of the existence or passing of something or someone. You can’t deny the existence of a human being, neither the greatest of all - the love itself. It goes beyond the laws we know. Despite that, some of us are still living in the shadows of our society, moving through invisible corridors of the system, trying to convince ourselves that we matter and that we should step out. Not all of us will. Some will stay hidden forever. But even then, there are traces we leave behind that prove our existence. It is undeniable fact that members of LGBT+ community leave visible and valuable footprints in every aspect of the society and different segments of our lives for hundreds of years already. The idea of the exhibition is to symbolically present the context in which LGBT + community live today in Serbia. They have no voice, but they exist, and have faces. And by using vibrant colors from the rainbow pallet, I wanted to emphasize the positive impact they make. With the photographs I have prepared, I also wanted to strengthen my message and trigger wider advocacy for understanding the worth of the inclusivity and respect of the differences. My core belief is that, by every human being different, is exactly what brings an added value to the society. Once we accept this as a society, instead of being polarized, we will, all together, be stronger.
