itaewon strong ✊ 이번주 금요일에 주최할 파티는 우리에게 큰 의미가 있습니다. 지난 할로윈에 벌어진 끔찍한 참사는 우리의 공동체에 엄청난 영향을 미쳤고, 사고로 목숨을 잃음 피해자분들의 가족과 친구분들의 슬픔과 충격에 크게 공감하고 있습니다. 이번 참사가 충분히 막을 수 있었던 사건이었다는 점에서 이번 일을 방기한 행정체제에 대해 분노를 느낍니다. 특히나 이태원의 젊은 문화를 그저 냉소적으로 바라보고, 명백하게 분주할 것이라 예상되었던 당일에 대한 준비가 부족했으며, 실체 없는 마약 범죄에만 초점을 맞추는 이 모든 상황들이 수 많은 젊은이들과 무고한 이들의 죽음으로 이어졌습니다. 이번 참사의 희생자들을 잊어서는 안 되며 다시는 이런 일이 발생하지 않기 위해서라도, 그저 아무일 없었던 것 처럼 이번 참사를 묻어둔 채 살아갈 수는 없게 되었습니다. 우리는 공동체로 일어서서 더는 이 일을 잊히지 않게 해야 합니다. 이번 행사를 통해 우리의 커뮤니티 속에 있는 놀라운 재능을 공유하고 우리의 공동체가 여전히 강하다는 것을 보여주면 좋겠습니다. 맞습니다. 이태원은 강합니다. 케잌샵에서 개최될 이번 파티는 희생자 유가족들을 위한 모금을 목표로 열리고 보다 많은 기부금을 모으기 위해서 특별히 제작된 ‘이태원 스트롱’ 타월도 판매할 예정입니다. 여러분도 우리만큼 이 커뮤니티를 사랑한다면, 이태원의 힘을 보여줄 수 있도록 많은 지지와 응원으로 도와주세요! This Friday we will be hosting an event which means a great deal to us. The terrible events that occurred on Halloween have had a profound effect on our community, and we share feelings of shock and sadness for the families and friends of those who lost their lives. That this situation was entirely avoidable leads to outright anger, particularly towards the authorities who allowed this to happen. The callous disregard with which Itaewon youth culture is viewed, the lack of preparation for such an obviously busy night, the focus instead on practically non existent drug offences; these things directly led to the deaths of many young and innocent people. These victims should not be forgotten, and we should not continue on as if nothing has happened, lest it be allowed to happen again. We need to stand up as a community and make sure we are not ignored. We want this event to showcase some of the incredible talent that exists within our community and to show that we as a community are strong. Itaewon is Strong. Our event at Cakeshop will be held with the aim of raising money for the families of the victims of that terrible night. All profits from the party will go towards this end and we will be selling a special Itaewon Strong towel to also raise more funds for this aim.
