Day 3, and Benj became a “vrai montagnard” To say it has been a hard start is an understatement. Fred and Benj have encountered winter-levels of snow and with the summer temps everything is melting out and soaking through. After summiting the Aiguille Verte they traversed the Grande Rocheuse and the Aig du Jardin before wading across Les Droites. At Col des Droites they reached their first cache of food and gas - much needed after running out of both early the day before - and decided to make the most of the clear skies and stop there, dry everything, and eat some food. The weather gods had other ideas and the clouds rolled back in leaving the guys with another night in wet and cold conditions. Tomorrow is a new day but bad weather is rolling in.
