✨Climate Change X Housing Justice✨ Have you ever heard of hostile architecture? Hostile architecture is an urban-design strategy that uses elements of the built environment to purposefully restrict behavior... and it is making it harder for houseless people to survive the climate crisis. As heat waves continue to spread across the globe (as a direct consequence of the climate crisis) it is more and more important that we understand climate justice as being intersectional. People who are unhoused and unsheltered are uniquely vulnerable to environmental stressors (like heat waves and air pollution) and inaccessible public spaces only exacerbate these circumstances. We cannot leave anyone behind. Climate justice must also include housing justice for all.
