Ce que j'aime profondément dans mon travail de cinéaste, c'est de rencontrer sur mon chemin des êtres humains incroyables, profondément humanistes, altruistes, dévoués, honnêtes, humbles et tellement plus encore. Cornel est l'un d'entre eux. J'ai rencontré ce berger lors de mon dernier tournage en Roumanie, avec @zed_films production dans le cadre du projet « Corridors Sauvages », une série documentaire de 4 épisodes qui sera diffusé sur la chaîne Arte @artefr et qui s’intéresse à la cohabitation homme-animal aux quatre coins de la planète. L’épisode en Roumanie que j’ai la chance de réaliser mettra en lumière la cohabitation des habitants du Corridor de Zarand avec les grands prédateurs, dont l’ours brun, qui habite ce territoire sauvage. Ma femme @soooare et moi avons passé quelque temps à documenter la vie de Cornel, vivant son métier avec passion dans un style toujours traditionnel. Son manteau en peau de mouton « cojoc de cioban », son chapeau traditionnel, son épaisse moustache bien taillée, ses chiens des Carpates et son visage rayonnant le rendent très charismatique. Vraiment heureux de présenter Cornel dans l’une des séquences de ce prochain film. What I deeply love about my work as a filmmaker is to meet along my way incredible human beings, deeply humanist, altruist, devoted, honest with so much more human qualities. Cornel is one of them. I met this shepherd during my last shooting in Romania, with @zed_films as part of « Wild Corridors » project, a 4-episode documentary series which will be released on @artefr. The episode in Romania that I have the chance to shoot and direct will highlight the cohabitation of the inhabitants of the Zarand Corridor with large predators. My wife @soooare and I spent a couple of days to document Cornel lifestyle, still doing his job and passion in a traditional style. His sheepskin coat, « cojoc de cioban », his traditional hat, his Carpathian dogs and his beaming face, make him very charismatic.
