As most of you guys already know, I decided to take a leave of absence for the month of September. Something in me was screaming, “Bianca come back to center...bring that ass back to center.” I needed time to reset. Reset myself, the house, the salon, and most importantly, check in with my boys. (Even if it meant a pay cut) Any service provider will tell you how easy it is to get sucked into our careers, especially since there is literally no limit to possible growth. You get what you put into it and now-a-days, that is A LOT! A lot of time, a lot of resources, a lot of ingenuity, a lot of dedication, a lot of being ON all. the. time! Especially with how much influence and push there is out there. We’re constantly flooded with “5 Easy Steps to: HiT tHe NeXt LeVeL.” Rarely do we see, “5 Easy Steps to: Have a Balanced Life and Be Truly Present.” I was having a conversation with a client recently and as I was finishing up with her I said, “ time to go clock in to job #2 🏡 👦🏻” and she said, “shouldn’t that be job #1?” Gorl! 🥹 she has it right. I personally don’t want to be my career. I don’t want to only be a hairdresser, entrepreneur, salon owner boss babe 🙃 I am realizing more and more that I value peace, slow growth, a slower life, lots of family time, deep connections, core memories . Small moments. I like small and deep and not big and shallow. Anyway, so far I am so happy I made the decision to take the time off. The other day I made banana bread with Xavier and it was fun 😌 because I was mentally and emotionally there and that’s the life I want.
