Earlier this summer I took a little side journey while driving from Vegas to Tahoe to hike up Boundary Peak (the high point in Nevada, though it’s kind of silly because it’s smaller than the adjoining peak, but the California state boundary separates them. So even though it’s a “high point” it’s lower than it’s closest neighbor.) I was driving my @rivianofficial electric truck, on loan to me by the company since earlier this year. To drive somewhere so remote on such a relatively bad dirt road in an electric car was amazing. Strangely satisfying to pass ATV-ers in a car that’s basically silent... The hike I would give 2/5 stars - mostly just one loose talus slope to a relatively unimpressive summit. The truck I would give 5/5 stars - maybe I’ve spent too many years in a van but I’ve never driven anything that’s so fast and responsive and yet smooth and quiet. And it’s a big bonus that it runs off the power of the sun... (from my home). So into it.
