This past weekend, Rep. AOC visited Seafood Kingz — the third City Island business to receive racist, antisemitic hate mail. To address a rising trend of hate crimes across the country, Congress has passed legislation to expand reporting of hate crimes at the local and state levels, passed the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act to strengthen reporting requirements for right-wing terrorists, passed the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act, and more. While there’s still more to do legislatively, we will continue to show up for our community in the face of division and hate.
