#MissEarth England 2022 Beth Rice Eco-Activity: Plant Trees and Restore Wildlife corridors Working with the UK charity, We are Possible, whose aim is to build a zero carbon UK, I went to plant trees at a local farm when I was a finalist for the Miss Earth Great Britain competition. Planting trees requires a lot of hard work but this video can show you how it's done. Ideally, it's best to plant in the winter months, this means you still have time to get your gardens ready for 2022 planting! In England, thousands of hedgerows were removed in the 20th century to try and improve agricultural efficiency. Realising the value of hedgerow habitats, we are trying to replant hedgerows and build wildlife corridors in the UK. Wildlife corridors connect green spaces and habitats so that wildlife can flow freely between areas and ensure we maintain genetic diversity of species. I should also mention the impact of trees on our greenhouse gas emissions, natures way of undoing our emissions and taking us closer to a net zero future. Why not plant your own tree or look for a local group near you who needs some tree-planting helping hands? #MissEarth2022 #MELovesFauna #LetTheEarthBreathe
