Last week, I introduced a package of bills alongside my LGBTQ colleagues in the @nyccouncil. As you all know, monkeypox is here in NYC, and while we’re seeing numbers drop week by week, Black and Hispanic communities are bearing the brunt. We know who’s suffering the most, it’s time for solutions. The COVID-19 pandemic ravaged NYC along existing lines of race and class, disproportionately affecting the already marginalized communities. This was a policy failure, and we refuse to make the same mistake again. With hard-learned lessons, this time can and must be different.
