wrote an article for @urbanlist about why disability represention is so important and why it is so important to me. When I acquired my disability 3 years ago as a result of cancer, I was instantly left with feelings of shame and the negative attachment that comes with having a disability. I constantly have people telling me how sad or how sorry they are for me that I now have a disability, yet it was an operation and a choice that I had to make in order to save my life and one that I’ll forever be grateful for.
