Riding a fatbike again for the first time in 5 years 🤩 I haven’t spent time in Alaska for real winter in years. It’s been snowing nonstop since we got here and it’s so beautiful ā„ļø A huge thanks to Greg at Corvus Bikes for setting us up. They are Alaska local and one of the original fatbike manufacturers, formerly called Fatback. These bikes have really come a long way and they are exceptional— down to the carbon rims & special grease in all the bearings to withstand frigid temperatures. The Corvus Akio is designed for the Iditarod, a historic dog mushing route to Nome, Alaska. I grew up following the mushers and have always dreamed of racing it on a fatbike. I’m trying to get a spot in the ITI 350 to McGrath in February— an adventure only accessible in the winter. Earlier this week, Specialized discontinued their global ambassador program. I’m moving to the racing division. Specialized has been my only bike sponsor and I’ve been riding their bikes since 2015. I’m really grateful to continue. They stopped making fatbikes a few years ago, so this an opportunity for us to work with a local company. I’m doing everything I can to be in the best shape of my life for 2023 including working with Lydia Tanner as a coach & Wilfredo Benítez from @onpacewellness for nutrition. I’m so fired up! A huge thanks to @backcountry for gearing us up for the cold weather. Use LAEL15 for 15% off, exclusions apply. Photos by @rugilekaladyte
