Memory is a funny thing. I’ve always joked about having a poor memory. If you ask me about two days ago or last week, rarely can I recall what happened without looking at my calendar or notes. Despite this, I tend to remember virtually every trip I’ve taken into nature – most any hike, backpack, climb, ski tour, or outing, such as this morning in the alpine lakes wilderness a few years back. These types of experiences captivate me and stick with me in some unique way. They become vivid stories I can revisit at any time – giving me wildflowers in December, fall colors in March, and snow in July. I’ll take these memories any day 🙏🏼
