Sewing. The addiction I didn’t ask for in my 20s but I’m so glad I got it. I took up sewing when I was pregnant with my oldest son. I needed something to do as I was home alone most of the time when I wasn’t working. I started sewing cloth diapers, then baby clothes, then hoodies and quickly moved to pattern testing and strike sewing. 2 years later I opened my custom fabric business. 4 years after I started sewing, I found my love for woven fabrics and for slow fashion. I developed my own style along the way. Fast forward to 5 years later and that’s where I am now! I love that I get to use this platform to share my love of sewing with you all.
Im really excited to share my latest project with you all. I had my followers vote on my next project. Im making a Gunne Sax inspired tiered dress out of some cotton woven. Can’t wait to show you all! ❤️
The dress I am wearing is the Tinley pattern from Vintage Little Lady. The fabric was purchased at a local thrift store. Im holding the bolt in the reel! I got about 15 yards for $30! It was a really great deal. This fabric is stain resistant too. It had a weird sheen to it but once I washed it, that went away. It has held up nicely. Can’t beat the price either. The fabric ended up being about $6 for the whole dress!
