Using this exercise helps any athlete maintain control of various portions of their body like hips, knees, and ankles during explosive movements. Not to mention that it directly translates to sport and function. Here we have to variations. 1 resisted; this is used to provide feedback as athlete performs the movement and is able to translate force effectively in a lateral plane. 2. Is free range, go for it, perform like you should. This allows the athlete to actually do the movement in an explosive manner replicating what is needed to perform within the sport. Keys: 🔑Load the hip on the push off leg by sitting in a hinge position 🔑As you push off, reach as swiftly as possible with the opposing leg to the desired point of contact 🔑Absorb the force as you land sinking into a hinge and decelerating 🔑Repeat.
