Well. There's the stamp on my HS wrestling career. 2x State Champ, 3rd placer, and ended by taking 5th at States, with a career record of 104-10. Not what I envisioned in November, but proud and grateful that I pushed through adversity. After suffering a possible life altering neck injury at Beast of the East, I didn't think I would be able to wrestle my senior year. But after weeks of PT, support, and prayers, I cautiously returned to the mat. At team sectionals, I knew I was nowhere close to 100%, so the few losses I took showed me that I wasn't done healing, then another injury at State finals. At that point, I contemplated ending my season. But with the help of my family, St Joe's coaches, and SJR brothers, I was able to persevere. I have no regrets about pushing myself beyond my limits, and through the pain, I left it all on the mat this weekend. Word of advice to young wrestlers: work hard, never give up on yourself, and be the definition of STUDENT-athlete! Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the years, especially this final challenging season. Special thanks to my dad, my 1st coach who guided me through this journey and sacrificed so much of his time and resources. Thanks to all my club coaches, @omar_feliciano1 @coach_roman25 @dctrained_nj @mmtheshotdoc, for running those hard late night practices to get me ready for this grind. Now, on to the next chapter with my new family at Cornell University. Excited to train tirelessly, learn from amazing coaches, & succeed at the next level. #blessed
