Did you know that our ornate spiral staircase was rumoured to be the spookiest part of the building? 🎃 Today, it’s one of the most popular backdrops in the museum for wedding photos! 📷💐 The elaborately wrought iron staircase was erected 123 years ago to replace an old wooden ladder that led to the roof for maintenance works. Its beautiful Victorian-style details were revived after layers of paint were removed and repainted during the museum’s redevelopments works in 2003. So is the staircase haunted?
