First and foremost I give all of my thanks to God. I’ve been entrusted with so many lessons, blessings and opportunities that it’s impossible not to have gratitude when reflecting on my life. No matter the situation I’m put in I’ve been able to smile because the good He does for me will always outweigh any of the bad. Unfortunately in this last week I sustained an injury in my left hand that will ultimately put a close on my last season here in Minas. I had to make the difficult decision of leaving my team during the playoff, to go home and start the treatment and rehabilitation process. I’m devastated at this situation...this season was one of the most challenging for many reasons, but also one of the most rewarding. From this I grew and learned so much about myself as a player and person. These two years in Minas were unforgettable and I leave here with my head held high. I’m so grateful that I was able to experience what it is like to play and live in Brazil. This is never the ending that I was expecting to have, but I won’t let the end define the entire journey that I’ve had here. I give thanks to my team mates, I never imagined that I would meet people that would change my life forever. The sacrifices we made, the tears we shared and all of the laughs, I will forever be indebted to this sport solely because of the people that it’s brought me. It’s a beautiful thing when there is a barrier of language but the heart of the person can speak volumes. Thank you to everyone on the staff here in Minas, believing in me and pushing me even when I didn’t come and do those things for myself everyday. Finally, thank you to the amazing support from everyone in between; my USA/ Minas medical staff getting a kick start to the recovery I need, the friends I’ve met along the way, and the fans...Thanks for the endless love and support.
